These are the times of printing variable data on labels – sometimes as a means to serialise the labels and keep track of the consumption and stocks. At other times there is a need to print random codes to further bind these codes to a track and trace solution. Bar codes such as 1D, 2D, QR codes and Data Matrix codes are also printed together with the codes. Variable data significantly enhances the security and provides ease of material tracking. Every single label thus could actually become unique.
Holoflex has the capability of printing variable information by using the following technologies:
- Laser Marking
- Ink-Jet Marking
- Ultra-Violet (UV) cured ink jet Marking
- Thermal transfer
We also have speciality marking capabilities such as
- invisible variable data
- variable data in multi colour
- variable data in changing font sizes (exploding fonts) like the one sees on a lot of banknotes these days
We not only supply labels marked with such variable data, but our AIDC solutions team can provide a turnkey solution to set up your own print bureau where you can do such variable data printing yourself. Several of our customers print the variable data on their MRP labels. We even provide this turnkey solution for the third number plate (sticker) under the High Security Vehicle Registration Plates mandate. As a part of the solution we can supply the printing machine, software and the print media such as labels and Thermal Transfer Ribbon.
